Guylian Belgian Chocolate Cafe at The Rocks is a chocolate cafe along the banks of Circular Quay and alongside with the iconic Sydney Opera House.

The menu is divided into 3 main sections, light café fare - cakes, sandwiches, drinks and desserts.

Desserts
Unique Belgian Waffle with Praline Ice-cream, Chocolate Dip and seasonal Fresh Fruit ($18.50). The waffle was very disappointing - very soggy and it's structure was too thin. The ice-cream on the other hand was very delicious - full of flavour and very smooth. The chocolate dip was pretty watery - I'm quite biased towards dark chocolate - this was milk chocolate. The fruits were fresh and delicious. On the whole, I would rather the dish without the chocolate dip or the waffle - which makes it really just fruit with ice-cream. For what the place is, a Belgian chocolate café, this dish was very substandard. Don't bother ordering it - poor quality and over priced.


Drinks
Guylian Belgian Chocolate Special ($9.50) - Guylian Praline Chocolate, yogurt, mixed berry fruits, raspberry sauce, chocolate milk,topped with whipped cream. This drink is quite an interesting one. The mixture of yoghurt and chocolate milk together with berries is an excellent combination. Only downside to this drink is the rock solid praline chocolate at the bottom of the drink. It was very difficult to dig it out.

Camomile Tea served with milk chocolate truffle ($5.70). This tea was excellent - highly floral aromatic. However for $5.70 a cup, I would have expected it to be served with honey. The truffles and praline served with the tea are the typical Guylian chocolate one can buy from a supermarket.


Overall
This place is a perfect tourist trap! The food here is pretty overpriced and sub-standard. Service is slow. I will not return here again, nor recommend this place to anyone else.

Day 8. The most amazing part of staying home is that I'm saving 3 hours of travelling to and from work! This has really given me time back for things I love, including cooking. But also, I've more time to focus on other things like re-starting my exercise routine on the WiiFit and getting more housework done in a timely fashion. How about social contact? COVID-19 Stay-at-home Day 6: Kimchi Pork Stew Recipe

Hi guys! It's day 6 of our COVID-19 stay-at-home plan. I've decided to resurrect my blog by sharing our meals with you guys. Tonight on the menu is my version of a Kimchi Pork Stew. It's super easy to make and you don't have to follow the vegetable recommendations strictly here. You can use whatever veggies you like. So here's it! It's best served with rice. Ingredients 200g Pork - Best cuts are belly if not shoulder or leg is fine. 1 tablespoon Oil 1 cup Kimchi 1 tablespoon Korean spicy red pepper paste (Gochujang) 3 cups water Your choice of mushrooms and vegetables. 1 packet of spicy Korean instant noodles 300g Medium tofu sliced (Optional) Spring onion to garnish Marinade Mixture 2 tablespoon of wine - Chinese cooking wine, Mirin/ cooking sake, or sherry 1 tablespoon of soy sauce 1 teaspoon of black pepper Method 1) Cut pork into thin slices.
