COVID-19 Stay at Home Day 7: Crispy Rice Cakes Recipe

Image
Hey guys! Just sharing a quick analogy about numbers and COVID-19 and why you should avoid the disease before I post my recipe of the day. Imagine you have a packet of M&Ms with 100 little chocolates in it. Now you're being told between 2-6 pieces in that packet has cyanide in it, and there are a few that will give you violent diahorrea what would you do?  1) Throw the whole packet away 2) Eat it cause I won't die from diahorrea 3) Eat it cause what's the risk of dying, it's just 2-6%?! 4) Eat it and share it with all your friends and family and even your doggy! Personally, the most logical answer for me is to throw the whole packet away. It's the same reason why I'm staying at home to help stop the spread of COVID-19. I guess it's really food for thought! That said, here's my recipe for today! I've had some leftover rice from last night and NO WAY, not wasting any rice as it's super hard to find rice out there. I've turn my lef...

Top 10 Google Searches 2017 - How does Australia Compare?

Image
Google recently released its " Year in Search 2017 " where the list of top Google searches across the world was announced. How does top searches in Australia compare to the rest of the world? Let's find out! Top 10 Google Searches in 2017 Sports You can't deny that Australians are sports crazy. Indeed, the top 3 searches in the year are all about sports - Australia Open 2017, Melbourne Cup 2017 and Wimbledon 2017. Interestingly, the only sporting search which made it to the top 10 world wide list was the India National Cricket Team. And it is as interesting to note that the India National Cricket Team did not make it to top 10 searches in India! Other sports type searches which made the top 10 include the Super Bowl in the US and SEA (South East Asian) Games in Singapore. Items New or trendy items were a big feature of the Australian top 10 searches list. The highly popular fidget spinner came in at number 4. The much awaited iPhone 8 and iPhone X ...

How to pick your notebook for Bullet Journal

Image
The bullet journal is a "back-to-traditional" organisational tool. It has won many fans not only from those who like being organised with to-do lists, but also from many craft and stationary enthusiast. If you've not heard of bullet journalling (or bujo for short), it is a system using a combination of long term and short term to-do lists, coupled with calendars to keep organised. Variations include meal prep lists, shopping lists, goals, etc. Many craft lovers also use their bujos for variations of paper crafts (like scrapbooking) and calligraphy. There are a good variety of different types and styles of notebooks available on the market. One of the most common dilemmas most newbies to bullet journalling have is what type of notebook to use. It might seem quite trivial for those who have never stepped into the bullet journalling world, but in fact the different types of notebook are used quite differently. To pick your first bullet journal, I've tried to catego...

Kreta Ayer, Kingsford

Image
What's better than enjoying food from back home? Enjoying food from back home with new friends made in Australia, and realising that they enjoy it too! On this trip, we enjoyed dinner with a group of my friends. Food Ordering food at Kreta Ayer comes DIY fashion. Simply pick out the dish you want from the menu, write the number down and hand the order slip to your waiter. Bakuteh - This literally translates to "Meat Bone Tea". Bakuteh is pork bone (or sometimes chicken) soup simmered in an array of herbs (star anise, dang gui, cinnamon, cloves, ginger and fennel seeds). This is served normally with deep fried tofu and a side of You Tiao (deep fried dough). Garlic Kailan - Stir fried broccoli with garlic and ginger.Crunchy kailan in typical home-cooked fashion. Oyster Omelette - Little morsels of oysters fried in an omelette. I've actually never had this in Sydney before, but this brings memories of my growing up years. Not the best, but good en...

Grace? Hyper Grace? What is Grace?

Image
Probably by now you would have seen articles and videos here and there about "hyper grace" and lots more refuting it as heresy, and even more trying to strengthen its claim of truth. The irony is that almost no article actually explains what "hyper grace" is, or actually even what "grace" is. After a while, it all becomes a mishmash of arguments what sounds like both side having a different understanding of what "grace" and salvation is about in the first place. So what is "Grace"? ... for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,  and are justified by his  grace  as a gift, through the  redemption  that is in Christ Jesus,  whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. Romans 3:23-25 Grace is a biblical term for unmerited, undeserving favour from God. This is predominantly shown through God's gift of salvation to mankind. Man have sinned (sin = rejecting God as rightful ruler) and...

Should we worry about the Lee family feud?

Image
Families are an unbreakable bond of people who are put together by bloodlines. In almost every culture, families are core building blocks of society. In Asian culture, families care for each other, protect each other and have each other's best interest in mind. However, it's pretty common for people to be really unhappy with their family. Family relationships are not like friends where you can chose to walk away from them. Everyone's born into a family not by choice. With family, you expect members to care for you, respect you and have your best interest in mind. And when this does not happen, disappointment sets in. If not resolved, disappointment can turn to anger, and anger to hatred. Family feuds often happen when there is a new marriage or breaking down of a marriage, major illness or catastrophe, new birth or death. It's not unusual. Ask yourself, do you know of someone or something in your family which has caused a whole family to be upset? Unfortunately for pe...
