Sushi Fusion, Randwick

Sushi Fusion is a Japanese Sushi Train restaurant on Belmore Road, Randwick.

Setting
As with most sushi trains, seating is at counters around the area where sushi chef prepare their sushi. Seating at Sushi Fusion is fairly cramped. It can be quite challenging to bring young children as there is no table seating.

Food
On the train, there are most standard sushi - nigiri, ship and rolls. Standard variations of prawns, salmon, squid, tuna, scallops, tamago (egg), cucumber, avocado, etc are available on the train. More interesting dishes include seared beef, prawn and salmon, and seared scallops with cheese.

All sushi were well constructed and well sliced.
Clockwise: Prawn and Salmon, Seared Beef, Squid, Prawn Tempura, Tuna, Chicken Katsu and Avacado Roll.

Clockwise: Raw Salmon, Seared Scallops, Seared Salmon, Tamago (Egg)
Seared scallop with cheese on rice: The creaminess of the cheese and the smokiness, made the dish very delicious.

Kaarage Chicken on Udon: This is minature sized udon with 2 pieces of kaarage chicken served piping hot! The chicken was fragrant, juicy and delicious. The udon soup was a little lacking but was full of flavour.

Desserts
Creme Brulee: The creme brulee was pretty standard. Creamy, sweet and had a nice burnt caramalisation on the top.

Sesame Panacotta: The Panacotta was slightly too firm. However, what was lacking in texture was made up fully in flavour. The panacotta had a rich sesame flavour which went well with the caramelized sauce.

Price
All sushi and desserts on the train is priced reasonably at $3. All udon are reasonably priced at $5.50 each.

Overall
Sushi Fusion is an an average sushi train restaurant. Most dishes are Okay, but really lacks exciting new sushi variations or interesting cuts of fish. Its cooked menu is also quite lacking, which would probably limit choices in the winter months when hot food is prefererd.
